The Old and Busted yard is on the left. The NEW HOTNESS yard is on the right. 2500sq ft of new grass, new mulch all around, under-deck drainage, 65’ x 3.5’ paver walkway, 18’ x 12’ paver patio, new plants and trees. Thanks JP Landscape Services!
And yes, brown/dirt area around the patio will become grass. That' part wasn’t sodded since it was already originally grassed. It has been seeded and should grow through in a few weeks.
Today would have been my sister Julie "Marquita" Zuber-King's 40th birthday. I still remember when my dad was turning 40 and Julie and I got a bunch of "over the hill" stuff for him and we were joking about the fact that someday we'd have to do this to each other when we were SO MUCH OLDER. Well, we're here, except... we're not...
I miss the hell out of you, Julie... Happy 40th Birthday. You're over the hill!
Josh was Honorary Mayor for the Duvall Days festival on June 7, 2008. He was picked up in the morning by Duvall Police and Mayor Will Ibershof. We had breakfast and a tour at the Duvall Police Department and he got to meet the Police Chief and many officers. He then ran with mom and his brother Ryan in the 5k Run and then rode in the Mayor's car for the Duvall Days Parade. Before the parade, he was able to meet many of the county and state leaders including state senators and state and county representatives. After the parade, he was off to the Duvall Car Show where he picked the Mayor's Choice car: a 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1. Finally, we headed down to McCormick Park where he was supposed to announce the lighting of the fireworks, but they started them early. But the band brought him on stage and he rocked out on tambourine and bass with them for a Pink Floyd song.
This morning, it was off to the Fireman's Pancake Breakfast at the fire station which included checking out their new truck and getting a tour of the station in addition to the never-ending pancakes, ham, eggs, applesauce, hot chocolate, coffee, and OJ...
There's also a video of Josh playing with the band TimeSlip. He rocked out "Another Brick in the Wall" by Pink Floyd with them while the fireworks went off over McCormick park. Link to video at youtube.com here:
